On Friday 30th July, 2021 the Degree of Doctor of Science D.Sc (Honoris Causa) in Child Development Science was conferred on three distinguished First Ladies in a special ceremony during the event tagged Stella Obasanjo Memorial Lecture on Child Care 2021 put together by International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) which held at the National Press Centre, Radio House, Abuja. The three honorees were: Her Excellency, Gloria Diri (Bayelsa), Her Excellency, As’mau Yahaya (Gombe) and Her Excellency, Anna Ishaku (Taraba). They are recognized and adjudged worthy ambassadors of the “Child Care Trust” pet project of the late former first lady of Nigeria Mrs. Stella Obasanjo.
The Human Rights Education Federation of the IHRC and the KYP – IHRC took time to assess the support and proactive contributions to end early children suffering especially preconceptions outcomes and during births. The First Ladies who are wives of the governors of Bayelsa State, Gombe State and Taraba States in Nigeria have been applauded for the adaptation of their own pet projects along values and visions within the ideals of Child Healthcare delivery. The IHRC applied very competitive rating processes to select amongst the 36 wives of the States Governors, those who have been deploying resources to help and breach the gap in their intervention efforts to assist women have choices that guide the attainment of healthy childbirths. They were selected for recognizing that it is a violation of human rights to have unplanned parenting beginning from the child’s conception.
The Speakers at the event were Dr. Paul Udoka Odenigbo, Co-founder Diligent Care for Creative Intelligence Development, Prof. Sir Bashiru Aremu, UNESCO Laureate and Vice Chancellor Crown University Int’l Chartered and Dr. Zainab Suleiman, of Phemzy Hospital, Abuja. The ceremony was presided over by H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure, Director/Ambassador IHRC Africa Region HQ.
While speaking on behalf of the two institutions under the IHRC who were the organizers, H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure traced the history of IHRC team worldwide and particularly in the African countries and drew a picture of the immense contribution of the two institutions to see that enlightening the society on issues of childbirths is critical in Africa. The memorial lecture had emphasis on the indisputable fact that no nation can achieve meaningful development without smart mothers who plan and have healthier children.
The ceremony was conducted with great mastery and enthusiasm by Dr. Maimoona Sheila Salim – Secretary/Registrar of the Academic Council of the Human Rights Education Federation of the IHRC. The occasion also witnessed the conferment of the D.Sc on Dr. Zainab Suleiman for her tireless efforts to impact preconceptions services on volunteer status.
At the session for professionals on Saturday 31st July 2021, H E., Prof Emeritus Sir Bashiru Aremu, Vice Chancellor Crown University International Chartered , USA, Santa Cruz Province in Argentina with partners constituent campuses and associates world wide stated that it is with a great sense of pride and enthusiasm that this global University has endorsed the Associate Professor status promotion on H.E Dr. Sir Tivlumun Innocent Ahure effective August 1, 2021. as a results of his following achievement
Research published articles in referred journals, International conferences papers, Fellowship Certificates from various global professional bodies, community development both National and International also Knighted by the Chartered World Order of the Knights of the Justice of Peace (Sir) which originated from International Chartered of Government of United States of America and also partner with United Nations Global Compact and others as well
Besides this announcement and his contribution which leads of the MOU signed by the University and the Human Rights Education Federation of the IHRC where Associate Professor Sir Tivlumun Innocent Ahure also serve as a Director under International Human Right Commission, Geneva Switzerland
It is a recognition of Associate Professor Sir Ahure’s incredible dedication in International Development Studies and his commitment to upholding teaching, and scholarly work in the discipline.
