The report by Economist newspaper alleging some of Nigeria military leaders of selling weapons to Boko Haram and Bandits is not only misleading, untie but out to discredit the leadership of the Nigerian Army who have been at the war front crushing the elements.
For the records, Economist newspaper is just another branch of fake media campaigns to blackmail the Nigeria military particularly the Nigerian Army.
It should be noted that some rogue media organizations masquerading both locally and internationally as credible news outfit to deceived the masses with fake reportage on the fight against Terrorism.
It was however discovered that influx of weapons and lights arms into ECOWAS region started as a result of the crisis in Libya which led to the killing of the Libyan leader, Colonel Mamman Gadafi.
Gadafi’s murder generated into series of conflicts and arms struggle within the sub-regions formation of ISIS, ISWAP which started funding Boko Haram, a perceived local insurgents group whose operational based is Borno state Chad,Niger and the Cameroons.
The accusation that the military are responsible in selling of Arms to Boko Haram or Bandits is just to tell you how this fake news merchants are willing to go in discrediting the security networks in Nigeria.
It is a known fact that the current leadership of the military apparatus particularly the Nigerian Army under Lt Gen Farouk Yahaya, has been sustaining the existing progress of his former superiors on successes recorded in clearing the insurgents in most part of the north eastern Borno state and other flash areas. Challenges in military warfare are not only peculiar to Africa the United States of America for instance abandoned 86Billions dollars worth of military weapons in Afghanistan in a hurry to evacuate the impoverished Asian country would Economist being a foreign tabloid accused America military Generals of any complicity? As journalists we must Always be guided by our conscience on what we report to the public.
